Team LJ Hooker Southport get shaved

By Jacqueline Latimer on Mar 23 2017

There were nerves, excitement and a late starter during last Saturday's World's Greatest Shave fundraiser at CSI Club Southport.

Our wonderful sales team have been preparing to shave or colour their locks for weeks, raising necessary funds for the Leukaemia Foundation and while most of the team were happy to part ways with their hair, Peter McCoy was against losing his but had a change of heart at the last minute.

"I decided to colour my hair for the cause but when they sprayed the green in to my hair, you couldn't really see it because my hair was too dark. So I thought I'd better go for the chop," Peter said.

"And I don't acutally mind it."

While there were a few nerves on the day, the team, which included our LJ Hooker Southport principal Alex McCormack, did really well.

Alex said he was proud of their efforts and was pleased to help contribute to such an important cause.

"Cancer is something that touches everyone's lives in some way, whether directly or by knowing of someone who is going through it," he said.

"So many people, particularly women, who are fighting this disease will lose their hair without choosing to and this can be very difficult.

"I'm glad we got involved this year and I thank those who assisted with their donations."

Yesterday, the Leukaemia Foundation reported this year's World's Greatest Shave had so far raised over $11 million nationwide.
